History

Cambridge Centre first opened in 1996, on a site previously occupied by the John Galt Centre, which was retro-fitted and expanded as the first phase of the development.

The mall underwent further expansion in 2002, which added several department stores, and an NHL-sized ice rink known as the Cambridge Ice Centre. Since 1996, $100 million has been invested in the enhancement of Cambridge Centre [2], allowing it to compete with other shopping malls in Waterloo Region, such as Fairview Park Mall and Conestoga Mall.

Community involvement

Cambridge Centre supports charities in the Waterloo Region, with a special Community Kiosk that is available free of charge to registered local charities.[2]
